AVETRA/TDA scholarship winner 2014 David McLean from RMIT, has completed his paper on ‘Meeting client demands for health service providers: a service design approach’. A wonderful piece of practitioner research.

Interesting paper David. Particularly interesting in light of the NSW government’s decision to fund “$10 million investment for students to learn new skills that will support the delivery of the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
“Over the past 4 years students studying to be carers and welfare workers have increased by 38 per cent and 33 per cent respectively.
“The government will continue to protect the most vulnerable in our community by investing in 2,000 additional training places in courses including Disability, Community Services, Auslan and Aged Care.” https://www.facebook.com/John-Barilaro-269402139747873/timeline/?ref=hl (John Barilaro’s Facebook page).
Hopefully those additional business skills will also be considered essential in the new arrangements for workers in NDIS.
